Sweet Sweets from the Philippines

Workmate brought some treats to the office after coming back from a
2-week vacation in the Philippines. Just like many pinoy treats, these
were all dipped in a more-than-generous serving of sugar. He brought
some sugar-coated Tamarind Candy (normally sour) and some very sweet
treats like Bukayo (sweetened grated young coconut). I laughed when I
saw the packaging because it says nothing about the candy inside. I
understand Ilocano and know what Manang Biday means but was curious if
anyone knew why this Bukayo was packaged this way? Still enjoyed the
treats regardless.
