Thanksgiving 2011 Spread

Weng hosted thanksgiving at her home this year and as usual, there was
a lot of Filipino food. Everyone brought a delicious dish and I was
glad I came hungry. Definitely a lot to be thankful for this year,
including all the beautiful arrangement for dinner, so I'll itemize
all the delicatessen here.

Grace brought deepfried squid in rock salt and Karioka (deep-fried
coconut rice balls). Philip and Ava cooked Papaitan, an Ilocano soup
dish made out of cow and goat innards. Weng cooked Kare-kare (oxtail,
tripe, vegetables with peanut sauce); Embutido (meatloaf made of
ground chicken, chorizo, peas, raisins, topped with
sausage, hard-cooked eggs, cheese, rolled into a cylinder); Dinakdakan
(Ilocana dish made out of grilled pig's ear, tongue, liver blended
with mayonnaise); Pancit Palabok (rice flour noodles topped with crab
sauce, eggs, shrimps, squid, garlic, chicharon); and other main
entrees.

I can't keep track of who brought what that night. Just know that we
had a lot to be thankful for.
